Release Show was Succesful!

The release show for "Now Doves Fly Here" was very successful!  Thanks to everyone who attended!

We also raised over $300 for Beverly Bootstraps!  The money will be used to help families in need pay rent to prevent foreclosure and prevent more families from becoming homeless.  Lilly Daigle put together a zine called "Crisis" with lots of information about homelessness with contributions from lots of different people.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank all the people who helped out with "Now Doves Fly Here"!  Thank you to all the bands who's music is on the record.  Also, thank you to Richard Marr at Galaxy Park Studios and Alex at Mystic Valley Studios for recording all of the music and thanks again to Richard Marr for Mastering the record!

Thanks to everyone who loaned money, helped screen print, made copies, helped at the show and all the little miscellaneous things that were a huge help:  Thank you Lilly D, Eric S, Dave G, Brendan F, Paul P, Ian M, Lindsey S, Matt C, Dana D, Scott S, Kaitlyn, Craig M, Johnathan at Staples and Dan at Exploding in Sound.

"Now Doves Fly Here" Artists

So, since the release is less than a month away, we figure that now is a good time to announce the list of bands that will be taking part.  It's not appropriate to ruin the 'anticipation' of the album's release to tell you what songs each band will have on the comp, so here is a list of the bands that are involved in this project:

Dead Cats Dear Rats - bandcamp
    Hel Toro - bandcamp
    Margin Walker - bandcamp
    Mutt - bandcamp
    Fax Holiday - bandcamp
    Mod Gun - bandcamp
    Pile - bandcamp
    Sherman Burns - bandcamp
The records are done being pressed and will be shipped soon.  Screen printing is under way as well.

      Peace!

de-efodiar's First Official Release: "Now Doves Fly Here"

de-efodiar is happy to officially announce our plans to release a compilation of some excellent bands that we all enjoy very much.  Some of these bands don't exist anymore and some are very much active today.

The album will consist of 8 Boston area bands on a 12" vinyl compilation called "Now Doves Fly Here".

More information on this release and a release show will be released as the time comes closer.  The tentative release date is in mid-November.

      Stay tuned for more.

      Peace!

      What is de-efodiar?

Hey reader, this blog is to keep you informed about what's going on in the small world of de-efodiar and some of the other things and people associated with it.

To get square with everyone right off the bat:

      1. de-efodiar is not a record label.  de-efodiar is a small community that wants to see the members of that community grow and introduce new people, bands and artists into it.

      2. de-efodiar is not a business.  We do not plan on making any sort of money.

      3. de-efodiar is not affiliated with anything or anyone, it's an ever-changing art project.  Today we might be releasing compilations, tomorrow we might want to release movies or draw comics.  None of us wants to pigeon hole ourselves.

      4. de-efodiar does not accept submissions.  We're more interested in forming friendships and good artistic relationships that releasing the works of strangers.  There are plenty of people out there who'd be willing to help you out with that and we might be able to point you in the right direction to find those people.

      Now on the the positivity:

de-efodiar is a blanket name for which underground artists, bands, poets, people or whatever can collectively collaborate. These projects are never defined and are always changing and may stray in the medium that we decide to release.  We are wholly non-profit and constantly lose money on our endeavors, but they're the spice in our life.  We're friendly, funny people and we'd like to get to know you, so send us an email!

      Peace!
